The UK music group, Stomp will be at the Queen Elizabeth Theater, Vancouver as a stop for their North American tour from January 13 to January 15 2017.
According to the band’s international site, Stomp has little to no melody, making the group enjoyable to everyone no matter what kind of music you listen to. Unlike other music groups, Stomp uses found items such as hubcaps, trashcan lids, brooms and newspapers to make rhythms with a group of people.
The group was started by a ten year collaboration between Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, members of British street band Pookiesackenburger (aka. Yes/No People) and theatre group, Cliff Hanger. The duo released Stomp at the Edinberg Fringe Festival in 1991.
The music group came to America in February 1994, preforming at the Orpheum Theater in New York. By the summer of 1994, the first American cast was made.
