Congratulations to teh Riverside secondary swim team for their great performance at the Fraser Valley meet on October 26. The meet was divided into two categories: the B category is for swimmers who train only with the school team and an open category for swimmers who train also with community teams. The meet was at the Coquitlam Aquatics Center, and all the teams of Fraser North valley district participated.
Students were a bit apprehensive for the meet as it is a major event, but they were also excited. “During the meet, I was nervous because only the fastest five swimmers will qualify for the Provincials, but at the same time, I was determined to win because I put a lot of effort into my training,” said Grade 12 Lucas Stan.
Swimming is a difficult sport where athletes must give their best in performance. All of Riverside’s students were focused and prepared giving their best to win.

“I love racing and even if the person beside me is ten times faster than me. I will still race until I have no energy left,” said Grade 10 Sara Hughes.
Swim team sponsor and teacher at Riverside, Teena Della commented on the team’s success. “I think we really did well, and we will even do better at Provincials. The swimmers are training hard, and they are giving their best.”
