Each year, Riverside Secondary has two spirit weeks that the students dress up for! The first spirit week starts on December 10 and runs until December 14. The events last a whole week, and there are different themes for each day. Make sure you participate and dress up to celebrate your Riverside Rapids school spirit. There are even prizes to be won if you dress up!
Monday December 10 is Pajama Day, so wear your pajamas to school for a cozy, warm and comfy day! Candy grams are on sale in the foyer at lunch for only $1 or by donation of a non-perishable food item. This is perfect to send to your friends or someone special.
Tuesday December 11 is Ugly Holiday Sweater day! Dress up and wear your most ugly holiday sweaters and take a picture with Santa. Who will have the ugliest sweater? It’s up to you. Go dig out your tacky sweaters and take some pictures with old St Nick!
Wednesday December 12 is Athletes Vs Mathletes day! Will you be a nerd or a jock? Krispy Kreme donuts will be on sale in the foyer at lunch as well. Go find your goofiest nerdy glasses and dig out your old soccer cleats and jerseys. Who will win? The Athletes or the Mathletes?
Thursday December 13 is Throwback to Elementary School day! Do you have a picture of you from elementary school? Want to recreate those iconic looks? Well look no further! Throwback day is the perfect opportunity to satisfy your inner child. There will also be hot chocolate being sold at lunch. Bring a non-perishable food donation or bring $1 per cup.
Friday December 14 is the last spirit day! Everyone is encouraged to wear their grade colors! Grade 9’s wear black, Grade 10’s wear white, Grade 11’s wear blue and Grade 12’s, or G19, wear green. The members of school staff and faculty wear red. There’s a spirit assembly in Blocks B and C, which will have many opportunities for students to sign up to participate in games and challenges. Students will also get an extended lunch time. Come on out and support your grade!
