On Saturday, November 19, stop by Riverside’s gymnasium and cafeteria from 10 am- 4PM for Riverside’s annual Winter Craft Fair. The fair features over 100 tables of vendors such as Mary Kay, Norwex, and Pampered Chef, as well as local crafters, artisans selling a variety of jewelry, baked goods, soaps and body lotions.

Each vendor has donated different items for the 10 different raffle baskets to be won throughout the day. You’ll have many opportunities to win a basket as the $2 adult entrance fee also enters you in the draw, and shopping at multiple venders will increase your chances of winning. The fair will be a perfect place to look for holiday décor and that perfect Christmas gift. There will also be a concession and Rapid change will be selling their baked goods with proceeds going towards helping children in Haiti.

winter-craft-fair-2The fair is put on by a determined group of 50 parents who make up Riverside’s PAC. The funds earned by the event will go towards the G17 After Grad activities so the more money raised, the more cool prizes, draws and entertainers the grads of 2017 will have. In the past students have won used cars, electronics, gift cards and cash prizes. “The PAC has planned for an even more successful fair than ones in the past with more promotions in newspapers and social media and there are more vendors than ever before,” said the head organizer, Karen Kelt.  With this increase in advertising they hope to reach their goal of raising over $8500.

Student volunteers are needed for the event especially grade 12’s, so if you’re looking for volunteer hours contact Karen Kelt (604) 552-0409 for more information and make sure to stop by to support the G17 event.
