Soccer is by far my favourite sport; in fact, the only sport I play competitively. One year my team was heading up to Kamloops for one our biggest tournaments yet. However, we weren’t playing our own age group; we were playing a full year up. We were the underdogs. We knew we needed to prepare for this tournament so we all put in countless hours. Not only did we practice as a team, but in our own time working on foot skills and different aspects of the game. In the end, we got the results we wanted, gold! That year we also went on to provincials going 3-0 in the group stage and went on to the finals. Unfortunately, we came short in the gold medal game. Although we lost in the finals, we accepted it and were extremely proud of how far we had come considering we were a year younger. That was my proudest moment.
